New "How To" Video - Inserting a document and uploading to it

If you wish to upload a document and link to it from your website, it is easy to do with EZChiro. Now it's even simpler with this How-To video.

Note : This is apart from the Document Uploader Module, which lists all documents along the left hand side. The Document Uploader Module is useful for downloads that you want your users to get to easily, such as the Patient Welcome Form.

New "How To" Video - Inserting an Image

A new how to video has just been loaded on how to insert an image into an EZChiro webpage. A video is worth a thousand words, but I only use about 250 of them in this short clip.

Newsletter Module Enhancement

Hi!

Just a note to let you know that you now have the option to use whatever header image you wish for your e-newsletters. Up to this point, you had no choice but to use the logo from your home page. Now, however, you can click on the new Change Newsletter Header button in the Newsletter Admin section and upload any image you wish, and it will appear the text area of the Send Out Newsletter feature. You can then align this image any way you like, by right clicking on the image and choosing Properties, or remove it altogether.

Have fun, and have a very Merry Christmas!

YouTube and You

I was recently discussing the benefits of social media with a chiropractor who wanted to leverage the power of the internet to grow his business. I mentioned Twitter, Facebook, and other outlets that allow chiropractors to find new patients and strengthen the relationships with existing ones.

Another good social media outlet that you can take advantage of is YouTube. Perhaps you've heard of it. Setting up one's own channel on YouTube is quite easy (just enter your username and password), and from there, a chiropractor can provide a virtual tour of their office by uploading their videos.

Now that part may sound intimidating to an inductee into social media, but this too is quite simple. All you need to do is to get a digital camcorder, such as the Flip Mino Camcorder, and you're set. The benefit of the Flip line of video camcorders is that they're cheap ($130 and up) and are built with YouTube users in mind. Just plug your camera into your pc, and in a few steps, your video is uploaded to YouTube!

The next thing you know, your users are touring your facility and seeing your CA without even entering your building. Just link to these videos from your website. Great stuff!

It's a Benevolent Premier

As you may know, I have been working on some new templates. These new templates also come with some new features, including a map and local weather. Your site will pull up weather in your area if you use either the Premier or the Benevolent templates. There are also neat new navigation features in these templates as well, and a variety of color schemes to choose from. The color schemes of these two templates more than double your options.

But what if you are using a current template, but would like the weather or the map on your site? Send me an email and we'll see what we can do.

New Templates and Styles at EZChiro

There are new templates and styles - 15 in all - to choose from within the EZChiro administrator, along with a more user friendly interface to do it in. Just click on Templates, then Modify Template from the administrator to make any changes you choose.

Uploading Images / Reducing File Sizes

Hello! At some point during your EZChiro Content Managing, you're going to take a picture of yourself, your CA, your office, your cat, whatever, and want to place it on the website. The problem is that you took it with your digital camera, and the large original file size is much too large for a web page. Though you can always reduce the size once you upload them to the page, it is better to shrink them down a bit with whatever graphics program came with your digital camera. That way, you reduce the actual file size of the image (and thereby allowing it to load faster for the user) rather than merely shrinking its appearance. If pictures are uploaded in a bloated state, and reduced in appearance once they are uploaded, the pictures will look fine, but they will take a longer time to load.

Forwarding Your Email to Another Email Account

Many chiropractors choose to forward the email from their new domain email address to their existing email. Here's how to do so.

Once logged in to your SmarterMail email account, click on Settings > My Settings. Then select the forwarding tab. Enter the email address you wish to forward all email to, and then you should opt to "Do not forward spam level medium and above" to restrict spam. Choose Delete Message on Forward, or if you have the Option, Auto Purge. That gets rid of the message for good if you no longer have any use for it upon forwarding to your other account.

Help Document Just Updated

Hello,

I just wanted to bring to your attention that the help document in the Admin has recently been updated to reflect some (but not all) of the ongoing changes to the system. It seems that documentation is having trouble keeping up with development! To see the help doc, log in, choose help, and then help manual.

Emailing Tip : Adding a new Email Address.

Perhaps you have been in a situation where (or will soon be) you need to add another email address for a new assistant that you're bringing into your practice. This blog post shows you how to do that.

When you log into mail.yourdomainname.com with an email address that has been given Domain Administrator status (It should say "Domain Administrator" next to your email address once you log in - if it does not, contact me at
a n d y -a t- e z c h i r o .d o t. c o m
) you can click on Domain Settings > Email Users. Next, click on Add User.

From here, you can specify mailbox size limits (please keep below 50 MB at this time) and set other options as well.
